I will post better pictures later. I need to work with my new camera. I have better video. The costumes are incredible. I always look forward to the creative costumes Janet, Peggy & Lori come up with. It is amazing to see all the separate groups come together for production. I loved it! It is a swim theme...they have the parents join in on shouting "Let's get soaking wet!" and they do it all in life jackets, flippers, goggles, swim caps...and lifeguards too!!! Two girls don't have life guards...one is Nicole...she just laughed and said "I will just have to save myself"!!! Good Times!!! Better pictures later!

MY WORST DATE!!!

I was seriously dating Ken (named changed in case he sees this) and he was at BYU. We had exclussively dated for a year and a half. I still had a year of High School. So while he left for school...I dated...he didn't. So one weekend he got a ride home and was so excited about spending the weekend doing a dozen different things. Big problem...I already had 2 dates lined up for the weekend. Being the mature person that I was (not); I quickly told him I was sick. He was upset but understood. Yes, I went to the movies that night with Steve (name changed to protect me). Guess who sat behind us during the movie. Since Steve didn't know about Ken and Ken didn't know about Steve; I couldn't like introduce them. During the movie, Steve kept putting his arm around me and being very attentive. Everytime I looked at him, I could see Ken watching over his shoulder with a huge grin. Now, I don't know if Ken knew I was going to be there but that was one looooooonnnnnnngggggg movie!!! Later on that night I had a visit from Ken. He forgave me my little white lie and we continued to date later. Thought I was going to marry him...he thought I was going to marry him when he left for his mission. I met Paul and was engaged before he got out of the MTC. Another story...oh what tangled webs we weave ??? I still tremble at the thought of ever reliving that night!
POWERSPORTS BUILDING
I have had babies that were easier than delivering this building on time! Holy Cow, the hoops you have to jump through to coordinate all the subcontractors on both the inside finish work as well as septic, waterlines, irrigation wells, etc... And then building under the county rules and regulations while annexing to the City of Moses Lake at the same time. I am not kidding...raising a family was a piece of cake compared to correlation of all personalities and entities involved! Fun Times!!!
GLO (GIRLS LUNCH OUT!) lol

Today was lunch at Michaels on the Lake. How wonderful to have Sara so near! I am so thankful for the girls in my life. Sara and I love to do a lot of the same things. Since we both have daughters one year apart; it is fun to share stories, get ideas and just plain TALK!!! The other day Nicole said..."Mom, did you know you talk to yourself?" Well, duh, sometimes I am the only one I can talk to and so far I always agree with myself. Nicole just laughed, gave me a hug and told me that she loved me (I think she was thinking...man, mom is getting weird...and she would be right!).

Internet Blessings

http://abrandnewyear.lds.org/
Wonderful new site for the youth! This site has incredible access for youth to uplifting fun music, scripture study, photos and much more. I have made it Nicole's homepage on her computer. If anyone needs help securing their internet for their youth...I am always willing to help. It isn't hard. I have heard so many sad stories from leaders and parents in our area who never thought they needed to worry about their children. Many of the sites for chat have culminated in rapes and molestations. Salt Lake Police state that just Mormon Chat results in more than 10 rapes a month! Computers can be such a blessing in our lives but they can also be your worse nightmare if not controlled. I am thankful that the church has seen the need to add "more good" to our youth's lives!

TAFFY PULLING

Nicole had her friend Gracie over and they chose to pull Taffy! It is a McConkie tradition to pull taffy during the holidays. Nicole's was yellow and caramel flavor & Gracie picked blue and cherry flavor. The big bowl of ice water is just in case they get burned. Happy to say...no casualties!!! They also went to the movie Bride Wars. You never heard so much giggling! I was glad when they finally fell asleep?!?

Blankets for the Christ Child!
My granddaughter Jesi watched as her mom (Heidi) made a special blanket for a little boy in their ward who was having heart surgery. She quietly gathered the scraps and placed them as blankets on the various nativities throughout their home. One little tree got wrapped with the long pieces. The baby Jesus got little blankets. I watched as Drew (Heidi's son) had the part of Joseph in the Primary pageant. As he went from door to door looking for room. My heart was touched with the simple truths of the gospel. I love my grandchildren and their sweet and pure faith. The ripples of faith that come from our homes really matters...all the noise around us becomes inconsequential. I love Christmas. I love my family!!! ALL of them!!!
I LOVE TO SEE THE TEMPLE!
What a blessing it is to have so many beautiful temples. I love knowing that all my children are worthy to enter the doors and feel that spirit that is found only in the temple. It is the place I go to get "my batteries charged"! In a world of distractions; I can go to the temple and get perfect focus on my life. I come away with a peace that propels me to try a little harder and smile a little more.

"COOKIE"

Cookie is Dad's new child. I have always said that if I am reincarnated...please let me come back as my father's dog! (JK) Okay, being is daughter has been pretty sweet too! This teacup terrier is so precious. He has too much energy and melts your heart. My dad can be such a strong businessman and few people know what a tender heart he has. The tender part of his heart is where he has always dealt with me. I treasure our friendship.
ARIZONA FUN!

My father made our visit so much fun! His beautiful home in Yuma makes you want to never leave. We attended church and found out that at the age of 56...I was considered young in a "winter ward". Nicole was the only child there. I suppose I should say teenager, now she is 13. We gleaned lettuce and cabbage from the already harvested fields. We soaked up the sun. Nicole enjoyed the 4 wheeler that Grandpa had ready for her. I am the surviving backseat driver! I still am having nightmares! (jk) We can't wait to do it again next year!!!
YUMA PRISON

We went to the old Yuma Prison. We just got away with our lives!!! Truthfully it was interesting to go through. There was a special presentation on Mormon Polygamists. One woman got sentenced to 10 years for stealing a dress. Now that would be a deterrent. Murder was a lesser crime than robbery. Adultery was a high crime.
